About Harbor Area Security Training
Harbor Area Security Training was founded by Manuel Jimenez in 2021. Having launched a successful security services provider, Black Knight Patrol Inc, Manuel and his team began to notice severe inconsistencies in the quality of training applicants received prior to obtaining their security licenses from the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. Black Knight Patrol launched their Training Division in 2020 and hired retired Gardena Police Sergeant Brian Juckett to spearhead the initiative. BKP began providing BSIS approved training to all employees on a quarterly basis to ensure their licenses remain in compliance. In 2021, Manuel decided to open the doors of our training facility to the general public and offer quality training to the incoming workforce. Harbor Area Security Training offers a wide variety of Security Industry related courses, and provides a unique career opportunity to all participants in our Guard Card Training course. Black Knight Patrol actively recruits new applicants from the students of Harbor Area Security Training.
Chief Executive Officer
Manuel “Manny” Jimenez is the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Harbor Area Security Training. Manny enrolled in the LAPD Harbor Division Cadet program at the age of 14 and continued in the program till the age of 18. Through the cadet program, he had his first introduction to law enforcement and security. He found a sense of purpose and camaraderie with his fellow cadets. Taking his level of commitment and support to the next level, he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and was an active Marine for four years. Manuel currently sits on the Board of Directors of the California Association of Licensed Security Agencies, Guards & Associates.
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Ed Salaz serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Black Knight Patrol and Harbor Area Security Training, overseeing all staff and operational functions within the company. His experience at the tactical, operational and strategic levels within the Department of Defense, along with three combat deployments, provides an organizational and operational skillset invaluable to any organization. He served in the United States Army for 30 years, conducting operations in 10 countries, and retiring in September 2015 at the rank of Colonel.
Dr. Brian Juckett
Director of Training
Dr. Juckett retired from the Gardena Police Department as a sergeant supervising their crime suppression unit, K-9, and SWAT team. He was employed by the Gardena Police Department for 37 years, 32 years as a police officer/sergeant. He received his Doctorate degree in Business Administration from the Northcentral University in February 2016. He also holds a Master degree and Bachelor degree in Emergency management from California State University-Long Beach. Brian is a BSIS Certified Baton and Firearms Instructor, as well as Taser.
Jeremy Kina has been with Black Knight Patrol for approximately 2 years, having worked extensively as an armed officer with previous companies. Jeremy has previous experience as a firearms trainer and EMT. Jeremy assists Dr. Juckett with all training and is a licensed BLS, CPR, First Aid & AED Instructor.
